Claire Elise Boucher, known professionally as “Grimes”, is the girlfriend of Elon Musk – the CEO of Tesla. In a strange rant on TikTok the singer said that “AI is actually the fastest path to communism.”
She began by saying “I have a proposition for the communist.” Grimes then went on to say that most of the communist she knows are not big fans of AI. Grimes then explained why communism and AI go together like PB&J and truthfully – it’s a little unsettling.
Grimes said “if you think about it AI is actually the fastest path to communism. If implemented correctly AI could actually theoretically solve for abundance. Like we could totally get to a situation where nobody has to work, everybody is provided for with a comparable state of being comfortable living.”
Grimes also said that “AI could automate all the farming, weed out systematic corruption thereby bringing us as close as possible to genuine equality.” She then concluded her video by saying “so basically everything that everyone loves about communism but without the collective farm – because lets be real, enforced farming is really not a vibe.”

Now mind you, improvements in AI that could increase farming yields and help to feed more people is not a bad thing and is encouraged. We are seeing the use of vertical farming and many other types of AI begin to creep in to agriculture. However, to insinuate that because food is provided for a society that nobody will have to work is the height of arrogance.
It is also unlikely that someone like Grimes and Musk, who have billionaire status together, would give up anything on this quest for “equality”. I see it as another case of surface level values being touted as genuine from the elite class but that’s just my take.
