Why I’m Cheerleading the Delta Variant on to Become the Dominant Variant – It’s Less Lethal

It has been hyped relentlessly in the Canadian media – I’m speaking of the Delta variant of course. Canadians have been bombarded with one-sided media broadcasts that have told them the Delta variant is more transmissible than other variants. This bombardment against the Canadian people came with the insinuation that if restrictions were lifted in any way – the hospitals would be bursting at the seams and the morgues would be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of bodies that they would be forced to deal with. Put simply – this is an outright lie.

I’ll be short and to the point – the Delta variant is the real-life equivalent of the man behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz. Instead of a man behind a curtain, however, we have politicians merging their interests with the field of medicine. Not that Canada isn’t familiar with political interests merging where they shouldn’t (insert media bailout here).

The Delta variant isn’t something that should concern Canadians – in fact, we should be cheering it on and breathing a sigh of relief. If any variant should take over as the dominant share of cases in Canada it should be the Delta variant. Now to be clear I’m not wishing any ill will on anyone – precisely the opposite. If the Delta variant were the dominant variant in Canada there would be less death, not more. You may not believe that assertion but the data says what it says.

Public Health England – Variants of Concern Under Investigation in England

Public Health England is an executive agency of the Department of Health and Social Care that provides the UK government, Parliament and National Health Services among others with “evidence-based professional, scientific expertise and support.” The agency released a paper on June 18th of 2021 that showed that the Delta variant was much less lethal than the Alpha variant – contrary to what the academic Covid doomers have been telling the public.

The Alpha variant represented 224,021 cases in the data with a Case Fatality Rate of 1.9%. The Delta variant had 60,655 cases with a Case Fatality rate of 0.1%. This means that the Delta variant is 19 times less lethal than the Alpha variant yet our politicians and media are driving fear on those grounds? The good news is that facts rule over fear and the facts state that the Delta variant could be a Godsend for the world.

To drive this point home if the 224 thousand individuals that had the Alpha variant had gotten the Delta variant instead – an additional 4032 lives would’ve been saved (1.9% of 224,021 = 4256 – 0.1% of 224,021 = 224).

Think about it for a moment. If the Delta variant is truly more transmissible but roughly 19 times less lethal than the Alpha variant – why wouldn’t we want the Delta variant to take over as the dominant proportion of cases in Canada? This is a great thing! This means that we could have a variant taking over as the dominant share of cases that is much less lethal compared to the original. If the Delta variant takes over as the dominant share of new cases as proposed to the Alpha variant – many lives will be saved.

Doom and gloom and stay in your room from our politicians is getting old. The facts say what the facts say. The Delta variant isn’t something to be feared – it’s something that could be great news for humanity.
