It would be naive to think that a protest the size and magnitude of the Freedom Convoy wouldn’t have a list of people seeking to infiltrate its ranks for various reasons. The freedom Convoy not only captured the hearts of Canadians from coast to coast but also those from around the world.
The protest raised more money in mere weeks than Canada’s major established political parties could raise in the entire final quarter of 2020 (3 months). In a short span of just weeks, the Freedom Convoy had raised over $10 million dollars.
What do you do with a decentralized movement that’s fed up with all levels of government from all political stripes because those in power refuse to respect their rights and freedoms?
Perhaps, you join their ranks and steer the ship into your preferred direction?
After examining data from the University of Oxford, I have discovered that 9 out of 25 of the most vaccinated places on earth (after taking out island nations) also place in the top 25 for the most deaths per 1 million people during Covid. There are many variables at play and so I will present the data with a warning – many other variables must be considered before conclusions can be drawn from this information.
On April 1st of 2020 these cities likely began receiving their funding from the Reaching Home program (agreement date began April 1, 2020 for many recipients). There was a total of 20,315 MORE deaths in 2020 compared to 2019. Many of these deaths came as a repercussion of our approach to dealing with Covid – not from Covid itself. Deaths as a percentage of the Canadian population was up .05% from 0.75% in 2019 to 0.8% in 2020.
All-cause deaths for 2020 for all age groups in Canada = 303,350
Detailed in the report from Premier Andrew Furey’s Economic Recovery Team report is an extensive list of recommendations to reduce the debt load of the province and many of the solutions mean higher taxes for Newfoundlanders. “The most urgent task assigned by the Premier was to review the financial state of the province and recommend actions to improve the fiscal situation.”
We have allowed our politicians to create a moral panic. The most important thing in our society is now Covid. All other matters of public concern now pale in comparison to Covid. Overrun hospitals have been an ongoing issue for many years and now the fault is being squarely placed on the shoulders of “selfish Canadians” who dare speak out against an ever involving narrative that has continually shifted the goalposts.
British Columbia Ombudsperson, Jay Chalke, released ‘Special Report No. 44’ titled “EXTRAORDINARY TIMES, EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES: Two ministerial orders made under the Emergency Program Act in response to the COVID-19 pandemic” in June of 2020.
However, we believe it is important to discuss the details and concerns contained within the report.
A Pew Research Center study titled “News Use Across Social Media Platforms in 2020” shines a light on where Americans were getting their news from on social media in 2020. The report also breaks gives some interesting insights into what social media platforms were most popular among Democrats and Republicans.
